Ashfords sponsors the Devon Life Food & Drink Awards

When providing a service or producing food, commitment to excellence is essential. As a firm, Ashfords is dedicated both to ensuring our clients enjoy a high quality service and to engaging with and supporting local businesses and initiatives within the community. This is why we are delighted to be sponsoring Devon Life's Food & Drink Awards, which celebrates the best of the county's produce.

At Ashfords we believe there is real culinary talent in Devon, and we are delighted to support any initiative that promotes the county as on of the UK's premier food and drink destinations. Devon's fantastic range of local, sustainable produce, which is sold and promoted in many shops, restaurants and hotels within the county, helps to give the South West its reputation for excellent food, which, in turn, provides a real boost to the tourist industry and the region's economy.

Ashfords' track record demonstrates our desire to support the producers and retailers of local, sustainable food. Firstly, a number of partners in the firm are farm owners themselves, and the catering at our headquarters in Exeter is provided by the local, family-run business Bon Gout, who are committed to providing customers with delicious, top quality food. Secondly, we have a number of agricultural clients and are proud to support farm shows that offer a wide range of local produce. Ashfords jointly sponsors a drinks reception at the Devon County Show with Francis Clark and Savills. We also sponsor the Members Tent at the Mid Devon Show and Somerset Community Foundation's Reception at the Royal Bath and West Show in association with Coutts. Furthermore, along with Action Coach, Ashfords is one of the co- sponsors of Who Cares Wins, an initiative run by Taunton Town Centre Company and the Somerset County Gazette, supporting local retailers in Taunton.  

Our wide range of clients and former clients in the food and drink industry are also a testament to our experience and expertise in this area. We have advised everyone from local businesses, such as previous Devon Life Food & Drinks award winner Darts Farm, to major international franchises, such as the sandwich outlet Subway. Ashfords has also acted for a number of top restaurant chains and is proud to have helped top South West chef Michael Caines - a champion of local, sustainable food - near the start of his remarkable career. In addition, Ashfords assisted Devon County Council and Veromar Strategic Marketing when they set up a website for tourism and food and drink businesses operating in Devon.

We are very pleased to be on the judging panel for Best Drinks Product/Producer, as we have numerous well-respected and prestigious drink producers as clients and former clients, including Dartmoor Brewery, Exmoor Ales and Cotleigh Brewery -  as such, we are confident we know a good ale!  However, as there are many fine producers of cider, wine, real ales and other delicious beverages in Devon this is bound to be a tough category to judge.
