The Devon Life Food & Drink Awards are now recognised as the Oscars of the local food and drink industry, and give valuable recognition to producers, growers, suppliers and hospitality venues around the region.
How the awards work
The purpose of the awards is to champion, highlight and showcase Devon's producers, small farming businesses and suppliers and promoting the fantastic food and drink industry we have here in the South West.
The 2012 Awards will be launched in the June issue of Devon Life. The nomination form will also be uploaded onto devonlifeawards.greatbritishlife.co.uk and regular press releases will be sent out to all local press and industry experts.
Once the closing date has passed, all categories will be short-listed in early September by a panel of Judges including Jane Fitzgerald, Devon Life Editor.
The three finalists selected in each category will then be notified, and this year each finalist will undergo 'mystery shopper' judging. All category sponsors will have the opportunity to be involved with this (between mid September and mid October)
Each finalist and sponsor will be invited to join VIP guests and local food industry experts at the black tie evening awards ceremony hosted by (tbc) which will be held at Sandy Park on 1st November 2012, from 7pm to 12.30pm. After a superb three-course meal prepared from local ingredients, the winners will be announced and their award will be presented to them by the category sponsors.

There are a number of categories available for sponsorship:
- Restaurant of the Year (not Available)
- Drinks Product of the Year
- Community Pub of the Year (not available)
- Farmers’ Market of the Year
- New Enterprise/innovation of the Year
- Food Producer of the Year
- Tearoom/Coffee Shop of the Year
- Baker/Confectioner of the Year
- Butcher/Meat Producer of the Year
- Dining Pub of the Year
- Fishmonger of the Year
- Independent Food Shop of the Year
- Chef of the Year
- School Food Award of the Year
- 2011 Devon Food Hero
Category sponsors will:
- Have their logos on all promotional literature, including the evening programme, slideshow and their award certificate.
- Full page editorial
- Have a 600 word profile on the Food & Drink Awards section of the Devon Life website – to include photos and a click through link
- Receive 2 complimentary tickets to the awards
- Present the prize to their category winner
- Be able to provide promotional literature/gifts for all awards guests
- Have the opportunity to be involved in the final judging stage of their category e.g. visiting and selecting a proposed winner.
- Will be mentioned as sponsor every month on the Devon Life Food and Drink Awards editorial pages within Devon Life from July through to December:

- July: 4 page feature: Awards launch featuring Sponsors logos and contact details next to thier sponsored category on both criteria list and nomination details.
- August: 2 page feature: 'Last chance to nominate' reminder
- September: 2 page feature: ('Judging underway'), a profile of two winners from 2011 plus list of 2012 sponsors.
- October: 2 page feature: Ticket booking information and announcement of finalists with sponsors' logos alongside with full contact details.
- November: 2 page feature: 'Thanks to our sponsors' featuring 150 words of text on each of our sponsors, detailing why they are supporting the awards.
- December: 4 page feature: Glittering awards ceremony coverage including the revelation of the winners and runners-up, a local supplier list and photos of all sponsors presenting their category awards
Headline Sponsor

The main sponsorship package will include all of the above plus the following: -
Acknowlegement and sub branding both in the magazine (6 months as detailed above) on the website, on all awards literature including the tickets and the evening programme, and on all external publicity as "The Devon Life Food & Drink Awards 2012 in association with (associate partner)"
A double page spread of editorial to go into Devon Life (your choice of issue) about your business.
Logo placement on screen at the commencement of Awards dinner and throughout the ceremony
A bottom banner on the Devon Life Food & Drink Awards section of the website and a free listing in the online business Directory.
A 1,000 word profile on the Food & Drink Awards section of the Devon Life website - to include photos and click through link
The chance to provide promotiional literature/gifts for all awards gusts.
4 tickets to the awards dinner
A feature on the Food News page of a forthcoming issue of Devon Life
The opportunity to display a banner or pop-up at the entrance to the event/in the drinks reception area.
