Eleanor Yeo sponsors the Devon Life Food & Drink Awards

Whether you’re planning your perfect wedding, a formal dinner party, or a stylish corporate event, it’s an important occasion and hiring a florist who is able to reflect your personality and style is key.

Eleanor Yeo is an independent floral designer, who caters for all sizes and styles of events across the south west of England from her cosy barn in East Devon.  

Eleanor works closely with all of her clients, building up a close relationship with them whilst working on their event, ensuring that she is able to reflect their individuality in the flowers that tend to form such a huge part of the occasion. She says that keeping in contact with clients regularly, and sending them ideas and images to browse through after an initial consultation, is all part of the service. Eleanor will only ever take on one client per day, meaning that she is always able to deliver that very personal service, and deliver all of the finishing touches on the day.

Alison Lane, a recent customer of Eleanor’s who married Joe in June at Seale-Hayne, Newton Abbot said: “I really wasn’t sure what I wanted in terms of flowers, but I knew what I didn’t want! Eleanor had loads of pictures, and spent time talking through options available to me within my budget. The flowers looked amazing and so many people commented on how gorgeous they were on the day.”

And it’s not just brides and grooms who make up Eleanor’s customer base. She says:

“I’ve recently started doing more and more corporate events. I think companies are working harder than ever to look after their clients, and setting the right tone is very important to them. I love making sure that a company’s brand and image is portrayed correctly through the arrangements”.

Buying from local growers is something that Eleanor tries to do as much as possible, not only resulting in fewer transport miles but also helping to maintain a thriving flower industry here in the south west. Eleanor composts or recycles all of her green, plastic and cardboard waste. She also hires out, or can source, a wide range of equipment including vintage jugs, cake stands, pots and vases.

“I feel incredibly lucky to be doing the job that I love, and working with fantastic people across the south west.  Life doesn’t get much better!”
